Corporate Business Goals

Goal #1: Innovative and Efficient IT Support

The Health Department would like to have IT supported media and other technology, an addition to a patient portal, digitized well and septic permit records, E-forms for various departments, updated accounting software, and improved technology for Environmental Health and Animal Control.

This goal actually goes above and beyond my own technology proposals for the organization. But it also reinforces some of my own proposals. Creating a digital platform for historical data, a new patient portal and e-forms support my proposal for applications for permits being online and my idea to have an online scheduling book available could be done in conjunction with the new patient portal.

Goal #2: Engaged and Informed Community

Their second goal is to create an integrated public health vision within the community, educate providers, increase advocacy for public health, and establish new media trends.

This is another goal that worked well with my proposals. An overhaul of the website would create a platform to assist with the integration of a public health vision by making the website more user friendly, more residents may want to use it. Area providers could find links and resources to our services on our website more easily. And the website could have a connection with our social media outlets to help establish new media trends.

Goal #3: Trusted and Respected Community Partner

The last goal of the Health Department is to be a recognized leader for public health in their region and demonstrate advancements through collaboration.

All great leading organizations have a great website. This gave me another idea though with the collaboration piece of their goal, the website could have a section that just blogs on their outreach within the community. They could do a little story and provide pictures on outreach collaborations they were a part of. This really could make the community realize what a large impact the Health Department has on the residents and visitors of Grand Traverse County.
